Adopciones

Ongoing visual research on illegal international adoptions, with an emphasis on cases that occurred in Guatemala during the armed conflict (1960–1996). The project follows adopted individuals who, as adults, return to their countries of origin in search of identity, memory, and family ties. Through photography, archives, and testimonies, the work reflects on adoption as a process shaped by inequality, desire, and power, and on the traces that forced separation leaves on bodies, territories, and collective memory.
